Stewards of the Wild Sea was selected as a finalist in the category of Indigenous Perspectives at the 2015 Wild & Scenic Film Festival in Nevada City, CA. Celebrating its 13th year, the Wild & Scenic Film Festival continues to share the power of storytelling through film to inspire dialogue and action about “concerns important to our planet’s welfare and collective well-being.”
The Baum Foundation embraces this opportunity to share Stewards of the Wild Sea and its story with new audiences. Stewards of the Wild Sea highlights the passion and collaboration that went into expanding California’s network of marine protected areas (MPAs) along its north coast while protecting the rights and practices of tribal communities that rely on and care for these important marine ecosystems.
The festival takes place January 16-18, 2015 and winners will be announced on Sunday, January 18, 2015.
