While world leaders meet at the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, COP21 in France, the filmmakers of Racing Extinction have planned an historic event to project images of wildlife on to the façade of the Vatican. Following its global television premiere on Discovery Channel December 2nd, 2015, Racing Extinction remains on the global stage with its large-scale projection event Fait Lux (Latin, “Let there be Light”) at the Vatican on December 8th, 2015.
As depicted in the recent film, Racing Extinction (2015), directed by Louie Psihoyos (The Cove), the team has already stopped people in the streets with stunning projections on the United Nations Headquarters and the Empire State Building in New York City. Now the Racing Extinction team takes its message of hope to the Vatican, transforming the face of St. Peter’s Basillica with images of nature and biodiversity in “an inspirational celebration of our common home,” Earth.
Simultaneously celebrating our natural world and highlighting areas at the greatest risk, Racing Extinction calls on citizens of the world to take action with its #STARTWITH1THING campaign. Reminding us of the beauty and fragility of the world around us, Racing Extinction developed this interactive campaign to give our global community information and resources necessary to take individual action through small changes in our lives, one thing at a time.
