Artist Marta Salas-Porras will join the Djerassi Resident Artists Program as a guest artist this month. Every year there are 800 applicants who submit their applications for the program. This year, 65 artists were chosen to spend one month at the remote location in the Santa Cruz Mountains with a cohort of 10-11 artists over the course of 6 sessions. The Djerassi Resident Artists Program, one of the eminent artist residency programs worldwide, has a long legacy of supporting and enhancing the creativity of artists by providing uninterrupted time for work, reflection, and collegial interaction in a setting of great natural beauty.
Marta is set to join the resident artist program April 13, 2016 among other internationally recognized artists with her ongoing work on the Patterns Project. Marta says, “I am honored to have this opportunity to be in a peaceful environment to be able to think and work creatively to make this the best possible residence experience.”
Marta will continue her creative investigations and produce art for the Patterns Project, a reflection of the work of Carl Schuster and Ted Carpenter.
