BELLA GAIA & UNEP Film Hotspots to Hopespots Opens Portland’s Innovation Celebration for World Environment Day 2013

Hotspots to Hopespots, a film directed by Kenji Williams in collaboration with UNEP Live, will be performed at the Closing World Environment Day Innovation Ceremonies hosted by the City of Portland June 6, 2013. Director, Composer and Violinist Kenji Williams will perform live violin music with the film showcasing visualizations of Hotspots and Hopespots and humanity’s presence on earth as seen from space. Stories selected for BELLA GAIA’s multimedia show come from UNEP and NASA science data.
The performance will be the highlight of closing events featuring remarks led by elected officials, university leaders and other Portland changemakers on solutions that led to Portland’s honor as host city for UNEP World Environment Day 2013.
Also featured will be Gary Braasch is a Portland-based environmental photojournalist whose project World View of Global Warming documents climate change science, effects and solutions. His work is featured in UN publications, books, magazines, postage stamps, apps, and museum exhibitions.
